Pre-season opener postponed

Unfortunately, Rochdale Hornets' opening pre-season friendly at Halifax Panthers has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The decision to postpone the fixture came after an inspection of the playing surface at The Shay earlier today.

With temperatures remaining at or around freezing, the pitch was assessed as unsafe for play ahead of tomorrow's game.

While the postponement is a disappointment to everyone associated with both clubs, the decision has been made with player safety in mind. 

Supporters who have already purchased match tickets will be contacted by James Saltonstall’s Testimonial Committee with details regarding refunds. Anyone who has recently booked through Halifax's TicketPass system will be refunded over the next few days.
