ROCHDALE Hornets is recruiting for a number of weekday and match day positions. There is wide ranging number of positions that need to be filled which require a variety of skillsets.
Role: General Manager – Rochdale Hornets Rugby League Football Club
Reporting to: Chair of the Board / Board of Directors
Responsible for: Management, Match Operations, Commercial and Finance.
Hour of Work: Considering PT and FT, with a requirement to work all home matchday fixtures.
Location: Crown Oil Arena, Sandy Lane, Rochdale, OL11 5DR
Salary: Competitive with OTE. Benefits to include club vehicle.
Description of Role
Rochdale Hornet’s RLFC are looking to recruit a confident, innovative, and proactive individual that will drive the business operations. You will also focus on income generation through commercial contacts and support the businesses financial requirements.
Key Responsibilities.
- Full responsibilities and reporting of the day-to-day operation of Rochdale Hornets RLFC.
- Ensuring connectivity between Rochdale Hornets RLFC and Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation to drive commercial, community and matchday engagement.
- Ensuring compliance with RFL operational rules and regulations.
- Support the Head Coach and Chairman with player contract administration and liaising on any welfare issues with Team Manager.
- Supporting the Medical Department to ensure all medical provisions are in place.
- Working with the Board, set and review all the commercial properties on price and benefits.
- Working with the Board, set and review all season ticket prices and match day prices.
- Manage the ticketing system and process to promote and sell season tickets and match day tickets.
- Manage commercial properties including, lottery, merchandise, kit sponsorship, player sponsorship and match day sponsorship’s and hospitality.
- Ensuring all sponsors agreements are fulfilled throughout the season to facilitate their ROI.
- Working with All Hornets Supporters Group, assisting planning, organising and the delivery of events throughout the season such as kit launch, media day, season launch and end of season dinner.
- Organising all away travel and match day logistics for the team.
- Liaise with visiting clubs to identify their matchday requirements.
- Manage the headline and cashflow budget in conjunction with the Chairman and monitor all spending and income.
- Working with our external accountants, maintain all financial records providing regular reports to the board. This includes payroll and employee needs.
- Liaise with Rochdale AFC to organise match days and stadium operations.
- Organise and planning of match days to ensure all aspects of a match day are fulfilled.
- Manage and support the media team.
- Working all home games to deliver match day and ensuring that the sponsors and hospitality guests have a great match day experience.
- Monitor and oversee Health and Safety and compliance.
- Attending Board Meetings and report updates on the commercial, finance, rugby and health and safety.
- Any additional functions or duties as determined by the board from time to time.

Wheelchair Head Coach
Reporting to: Director of Development & Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for: Management, Coaching and Support Staff of the Community Wheelchair Team
Role: Head Coach (Voluntary) – Wheelchair Team
Job Purpose:
- To work with the Director of Development & CEO to agree all planning and preparation for the squad.
- To be responsible for the overall management of the wheelchair teams, playing and training programme.
- Plan, implement and review all coaching delivery using relevant session plans to support player development.
- To manage the squad selection process in line with club’s strategic plan.
- Establish networks or partnerships that provides opportunities to local talent.
- To enforce and implement the club’s philosophy and values at all times.
- To plan and implement the annual plan.
- To manage the work duties of the assistant coaches and support staff whilst monitoring and reviewing as necessary.
- Ensure appropriate codes of conduct are followed by staff and player alike.
- Remain aware and take responsibility for player’s performance, fitness and welfare.
- Carry out all the duties and responsibilities which may reasonably be required to deliver the services of player development to the best of his ability.
- At all times exercise due skill, care and diligence in delivering the services.
- Conduct yourself professionally at all times whilst representing the club with media and commercial partners.
- Represent yourself and the club at such specific times and at such specific locations as the parties shall mutually agree to e.g. update meetings, launch events.

- UKCC level 2/RFL Level 2 Wheelchair RL Coaching Rugby League or equivalent
- Excellent understanding of key challenges within the game
- Excellent planning skills
- Excellent management and inter personal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to manage a team of coaches, managers and support staff
- A commitment towards continued personal development
- A good working knowledge of IT including ability to work with common Microsoft Packages

Wheelchair Assistant Coach
Reporting to: Head Coach
Responsible for: Coaching and assisting the Head Coach
Role: Assistant Coach (Voluntary) – Wheelchair Team
Job Purpose: To act effectively as Assistant Coach to Rochdale Hornets Wheelchair team
- To work with the Head Coach to agree all planning and preparation for the squad

Graphic Designer - voluntary
We are seeking to recruit a graphic designer to assist the club in developing its online content. This may include;
- Building graphic content and themes the club can use on social media and the website.
- Player announcement’s
- Fixtures releases
- Promotions and marketing campaigns
- Scoreboard graphics
- Assist with programme creation
- Coordinate graphics with media team for announcement’s.
- Work with internal staff to develop content to maximise impact of campaigns, offers and information.
- Be available to attend club events such a media days

Programme Coordinator - Voluntary
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our off field media team and manage our match-day programme. The role involves using canvas to create content and update the programme for each game.

Agents can earn 15% commission on all collections with several rounds available. Collection is local across Rochdale;

This is an ideal opportunity to help the club generate funds whilst getting some exercise and meeting people in the community. You don’t need to take on a huge commitment with some collections as little as 10 with a collection frequency ranging from weekly to 4 weekly. Mascot - Hooper (Voluntary)
Join the club as Hooper the Hornet and entertain the crowd. We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative person. You must be good with Children and ideally you'll have dance or performing background.
Support Hooper the Hornet and supervise our match day Mascots on all Hornets home fixtures ensuring they have a safe, enjoyable and fun matchday experience. You'll will work 3.5 hours per match and would be required to work every home match.
Your DBS will be paid for by the club.
Match day sellers - (Commission based)
We take our gameday preparation very seriously and are one of the best in the business. As part of the team you will sell our programmes, half time draw, raffel tickets and promotional items.
