Libby Hadfield re-joins Hornets Women for 2025

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of back, Libby Hadfield for the 2025 season.

The 20-year-old back re-signs for Rochdale Hornets, following a completed transfer from Super League side, Warrington Wolves.

Libby started her Rugby League career at Hornets, making her debut at the age of 16, in a 46-20 defeat to Featherstone Lions in June 2021. Libby made a bright start to her Hornets career, scoring a try in that match.

She has since gone on to be signed by Super League side, Warrington Wolves, making 2 appearances against St. Helens & Leeds Rhinos.

“I started my journey with Hornets at 16, where I played my first ever league game, so it means a lot to be back in 2025. The way Ben, Rob, and Matt have transformed the team is incredible, and I’m buzzing to be part of it again and do something special this season to make it one to remember.”

Hornets Head Coach, Ben Bird commented, “I'm so happy to have Libby back with us at Hornets. I've known and supported her for a long time, she started her League journey at Hornets at the tender age of 16 and she's grown so much since then. Libby has played a lot of rugby union at Littleborough, Sale, Lancashire and then at Uni before getting an opportunity to play league at Warrington. She was part of the first group of women I coached at Hornets, she's a really strong, fast, athletic rugby player and offers a huge threat for us out wide. I really can't wait to see her back in the shirt this weekend.
