Darcey Price re-joins Hornets Women for 2025

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of Jamaican international prop, Darcey Price for the 2025 season.

The 25-year-old prop re-signs for Rochdale Hornets, following a completed transfer from Championship side, Swinton Lions.

Darcey started her Rugby League career at Hornets, making her debut at the age of 21, in a 14-54 defeat to Warrington Reds in May 2021.

She has since gone on to be signed by Championship side Salford Red Devils & Swinton Lions. Darcey has also gone on to represent her Jamaican heritage, by making 4 international appearances for the Reggae Warriors.

“Being back at hornets was something that never left my mind, always wanted to see what it was all about back playing with some of closest friends always makes it even more memorable and fun!”

Hornets Head Coach, Ben Bird commented, “Darcey is another girl I've known for a long time having started her league journey at Hornets. The transformation and the confidence she now plays with is incredible. She's an exceptionally strong ball carrier and wherever I've seen her play at whichever level, she has been a dominant figure in the middle of the park. Having played for Salford and Swinton, Darcey is also rather impressively the Captain of the current Jamaica rugby league team.

Having had her back within the group for a couple of weeks for extra training, to have Darcey choose to move back to us says a lot about what we're building at Hornets. She's already offered a lot and I'm excited to see her influence on us for the rest of the season.
