Hornets Women represented at Women’s Nines

Last weekend, several members of Rochdale Hornets’ women’s team featured for strategic partners London Broncos at the RFL’s Women’s Nines event in Leeds.
Molly Udale-Williams, Evie Barnes, Lisa Berding & Eva Peroti all had the chance to feature for the Broncos, representing the Hornets with pride throughout the day.
Earlier this year, we proudly announced a ground-breaking strategic partnership with the Broncos Women, enabling both clubs to work together to support the development of women’s rugby league in the UK.
At the Women’s Nines, teams were split into four groups to play a round-robin format.
Following this, the Broncos Women reached the final of the Women’s Nines Cup, losing out to Leigh Leopards.
Two further players from the Hornets Women were also represented on the day, with Sam Brazier and Kate Howard featuring for Leigh.
Discussing the event, women’s head coach Ben Bird said: “The girls have represented Rochdale Hornets in the most positive way.
“They've both shown us this season that their potential to grow and develop in the game is huge, so it was good to let them jump up and have a dig.
“The relationship we've fostered with London Broncos has proven to be an amazing opportunity for both clubs, ensuring that players from both squads are active and playing as much as they can.
“On our part, it's nice to be able to offer our girls the opportunity to test themselves at that level, and London have been brilliant in supporting us during our maiden season.”
