Jaden Dayes signs one-year contract extension

Rochdale Hornets forward Jaden Dayes has agreed a new deal which will see him remain at the club for the 2026 season.

Dayes has spent the last two seasons at the Hornets, making 25 appearances during that time.

A graduate of the Huddersfield Giants Academy, Dayes impressed for the club's reserve team prior to securing a move to the Crown Oil Arena.

Despite enduring an injury-disrupted 2025 campaign, we are confident in his ability to hit the ground running next year.

"Staying at Rochdale was an easy decision for me," he said.

"Since coming here, I have felt at home and really enjoy seeing myself improve as a player.

"I was disappointed that last season ended with an injury, but I will be back this year better and more determined, and can't wait to help play my part to get Rochdale as far as I can within this new league structure."

Rochdale Hornets head coach Gary Thornton said: “I’m really pleased that Jaden has re-signed for 2026. He is a popular member of our group.

“He had an injury-plagued 2025 and was a regular in our 17 before his injury.

“We missed his strong carries and big hits at the back end of the season, just as he was starting to find form.

“I hope he continues with his progress next season to fulfil his undoubted potential.

“He is a young front-rower who is keen to impress, and with a good pre-season behind him, I expect him to go on and become a quality Championship level forward.”
