Alex Chippendale signs one-year extension

Rochdale Hornets outside back Alex Chippendale has signed a new one-year deal ahead of the 2027 season.
Chippendale arrived at the Crown Oil Arena on a permanent deal from Betfred Super League side Huddersfield Giants back in June.
He went on to make seven appearances for the club, scoring his only try away at Barrow Raiders at the start of August.
Chippendale is a skilful outside back who has primarily operated on the wing during his career to date.
Prior to linking up with the Hornets, the 19-year-old impressed during his time in the Huddersfield academy and was rewarded with his first team debut against Hull KR in the Betfred Challenge Cup back in March.
Grasping his opportunity in the Betfred Championship with both hands, we look forward to welcoming Chippendale back for pre-season.
“It’s been a really positive move to Rochdale,” he said.
“The team, management and fans are exactly what a young player like me needs in the early stages of their career. I’m very much looking forward to next season.”
Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: "We are pleased to retain Chippy, a talented and committed young professional.
“He's really impressed Gary Thornton and our performance staff with his attitude since arriving mid-season from Huddersfield, and the feedback has been nothing but positive.
“He has displayed tremendous commitment and courage in his performances to date, and with a quality pre-season, we believe he will be bigger, stronger and better in 2027.”
